Collaborative Librarianship – Publication of Volume 6, Issue 1 (2014)
May 6, 2014 – (Denver CO) – The open access journal, Collaborative Librarianship (eISSN: 1943-7528), has published Vol. 6, no. 1. This issue leads with a guest editorial by Mark Sandler, Director of the Center for Library Initiatives, followed by two peer reviewed articles on Canadian joint-use academic and public libraries and on library partnerships supporting sustainability curricula. An important and intriguing article reports on the Mellon-funded initiative of Columbia and Cornell Universities, “2CUL,”on combining their technical services. Another article discusses initiatives promoting improved discoverability of scholarly publications and research. The journal is pleased to present an interview with its newest member of the Advisory Board, Rona Wade, CEO of UNILINK, based in Australia. “Viewpoints” discuss how libraries can develop in better ways their RFPs, and an opinion piece explores library connections to the emerging discipline, “Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.” Reviews of Collaboration in Libraries and Learning Environments and of Digital Humanities in Practice complete this issue of Collaborative Librarianship.
Collaborative Librarianship: Call for Papers and Reviews – Does your library collaborate with another library in your community? Are you involved in some interesting, innovative or experimental aspect of library collaboration? Does your library explore or implement resources or services that build on, promote, or expand the scope of library collaboration? Are you reflecting on the methodology, theory or philosophy of why and how librarians, libraries or library consortia work together? If so, we would like to hear from you. Please consider submitting articles for “peer review” or “From the Field” sections of the journal, or submitting reviews of print or online resources or services. Submissions can be made directly through the CL website. Issues are published four times per year, usually in March, June, September and December each year, and deadlines for submissions are four months in advance of publication.

Collaborative Librarianship: Statistics: as of April 2014, the total number of views/downloads of the journal topped 357,000, an increase of 30,000 over the past three months.
