AASL Four-week online course — The Path to Collaboration

The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) started offering a four-week online course, The Path to Collaboration: Making it Happen. It may be too late to register for this course now, but some librarians may be interested in this the next time it is offered.

“As teachers and librarians work more closely together, the benefit of collaborative work, along with the increasing need to help learners obtain skills, will make librarians essential to successful schools,” said one AASL phone interview respondent.

“The Path to Collaboration: Making it Happen” is an excellent primer for school library media specialists and library media students to learn how to effectively build partnerships according to AASL’s guidelines in “Empowering Learners: Guidelines for School Library Media Programs.” Participants will learn how to identify and analyze the factors that contribute to successful collaboration with teachers.
