Transforming Library Service through Broadband Access: The Role of Regional Library Cooperative

ASCLA ICAN (Interlibrary Cooperation and Networking) and OITP (ALA Office for Information Technology Policy) are sponsoring a program at the ALA Annual Conference on Transforming Library Service through Broadband Access:  The Role of Regional Library Cooperatives on Sunday, July 12, 1:30 – 3:00 pm in the Camelot Room of the Intercontinental Hotel.  Come to this meeting if:
• You are a public library who would like your Regional Cooperative to help you get high speed broadband access


• You are a Regional Cooperative that already helps your members with some aspect of  high speed broadband and are willing to share your advice and experience
• You are a Regional Cooperative that would like to provide this service but you are not sure where to begin
Speakers will include Barbara Powell, Librarian from the Concord Free Public Library (MA), Chris Alberts and Monica Schultz from the Peninsula Library System (CA), Bo Bocher from the Wisconsin State Library, and Todd Schmidt, City Manager in Milton, WI.  These speakers will each give their own perspective on how their Regional Library Cooperative helps member libraries get and use high speed broadband to better serve their users.  There will be time for the audience to share questions and their experience.
